  Unsure if a Lapphund suits your lifestyle? Complete our Puppy Adoption Application Form so we can get to know you better, what your household is like, your experience with pets, lifestyle, and what matters most in a puppy companion.

• Are you interstate, or prefer a chat first?
  No problem! Book in a phone conversation with Katrina at your convenience so you can ask anything, from breed personality traits to home preparation tips. Book in on Katrina's Calendly.

2. Application and Matching

• We carefully review all applications to ensure we're placing our puppies into loving, prepared homes. This is about making sure a Finnish Lapphund is truly right for you, and that the puppy is the perfect match for your family and lifestyle. We work with you to give you advice and recommendations and match you with the puppy most suited to your family and lifestyle.

3. Reservation & Payment Structure

• Once matched, you reserve your puppy with a deposit ($2,000 upon litter birth confirmation). The remaining balance is due when your puppy reaches 7 weeks of age. We offer flexible payment options, including direct bank transfer, credit card, Handypay, Afterpay and Ezidebit, so you can choose what works best for your family.

4. Puppy Preparation & Early Updates

• Stay Connected from day one
  While your puppy grows in our care, you’ll receive weekly updates via email, complete with adorable photos, videos, and progress notes. All this lives in a shared Drive folder alongside your puppy's Super Puppy Program chart. 

• Visit the Nursery
  At around 6 weeks old, you're invited to come meet your puppy, their mum, and siblings, a beautiful moment to build those early memories. 

• At 7 weeks of age we conduct temperament assessments on each puppy, which assist us in placing them with families that are most suited to them.

• Our puppies depart for their new homes at 8 weeks of age.

• You can pick up your puppy from our Picton (Sydney) home, or we can fly your puppy to you interstate.

5. What's Included with Adoption

Your adoption fee isn’t just for a puppy, it’s a full suite of support to set you both up for a smooth and joyful beginning:

• Puppy Preparation Checklist, training videos, eBooks, factsheets

• 10 private phone/Zoom coaching sessions with expert trainer Katrina Bailey

• 10 monthly puppy-raising webinars for support and community

• Access to your litter’s private Facebook Messenger group for sharing and connecting

• Lifetime support via phone, email, and Messenger

• A puppy raised through our Super Puppy Program, with early training, socialisation, foundation behaviours, and leash/toilet training

• Puppy pack: blanket with scents of mum and siblings, toy, paperwork

• Vet health check and reports, first vaccination + vaccination booklet

• Microchipping, NSW Pet Registry registration

• Complimentary pet insurance starting the day before pick‑up

• A 5-year health guarantee and lifetime rehoming support

• Grooming and nail trim on the morning your puppy leaves

• Puppy schedule for vaccines, worming, tick prevention, and more

• Access to an extensive library of puppy‑raising resources—including diet, grooming, and trusted supplier lists

• Local NSW/ACT pick-up option so you can visit where your puppy has been raised

6. Welcome Home with Confidence

As your puppy comes home with you, rest easy knowing you have:

• A comprehensive support network, live coaching, webinars, and peer groups

• Resources for every stage of your puppy’s growth

• Ongoing backup from Orical Kennels for life

7. Long Term Community & Care
