Wind can stir up scents from far away, create strange noises, and even shift barometric pressure—all of which can leave dogs feeling overstimulated or on edge. For Arctic breeds like Finnish Lapphunds, crisp, icy winds may even energise them. Understanding these changes helps us support our dogs when the weather turns blustery.

What an incredible weekend at the Dog Lovers Festival! 🐾💙 From endless cuddles with our Finnish Lapphunds to meeting new faces, networking with amazing pet vendors, and connecting with fellow dog lovers, our stand was buzzing with excitement. A huge thank you to our volunteers and especially Danielle for organising the club’s stand, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Our boy Fennec (Orical Hidden Treasure) had a huge weekend at the Port Stephens Dog Sports Club Inc Show! Over two days he wowed the judges, taking out all three Best of Breeds, a first in 6–12 Month Sweepstakes, two Best Puppy in Show awards, and Best Minor Puppy in Show. With glowing feedback on his coat, markings, movement, and temperament, Fennec truly shone alongside Jordan. What a superstar performance! ✨🏆

Day 1 at the Dog Lovers Show was our busiest yet! From belly rubs for Ruska, Sprinkle enjoying pats on the table (and Lyka treats!), and Sophie soaking up attention, to puppies Gus, Chingu, and Buddy thriving in the new puppy playground – our stand was packed all day. Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers and to everyone who visited. We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow for another full, fun day!
